Treatment done in 2 Phases can prevent the need for removal of the permanent teeth and result in a more stable and aesthetic smile.
What is Phase I Treatment?
The initial Phase of Treatment modifies the growth of the jaw bone where the teeth are growing. Developing the jaw bone to create space for eruption of permanent teeth is a common goal of Phase I Treatment. Orthodontic appliances are placed to prevent a problem from occurring, correct a current problem or help direct jaw bone growth.
What is Phase II Treatment?
The Second and final Phase of Treatment is done when the permanent teeth erupt. The final bite correction of the upper and lower teeth is achieved and the aesthetic smile is created.
